The Place of the Living Stones Book
Progress Report

 

     The printing of a book written by Tim and Louise Jones about the St. Victor Petroglyphs. The title of the book will be "The Place of the Living Stones". The book will consist of photographs, drawings, history of area, archaeological research done at the Petroglyph site, cultural significance historical and prehistoric.

Guided Tour Fees
(Evening tours only)

 Tour starts at sunset (Weather permitting)
No Tours on rainy days due to loose and slippery cliff side
Must have good footwear.
Photos may be taken.

Tour includes

  • A close up look at the carvings and a look at the styles of carving methods used.

  • Information about the site and the carvings as to what they are and what they may represent

  • Duration is from 1 hour to 1.5 hours.

  • Tour Fees:
    1 to 4 People
    $20.00

    Each additional person
    $ 5.00 Each

    Age 12 and under no charge
    ( must be under adult supervision)

    Monarch Butterfly Project

    Project will be at the Monarch Lodge in St. Victor, SK.  This is a Junior project where young people of the community will be working on the project over the summer months. Butterflies arrive in mid to late June and caterpillars are collected a week later with hatching of new monarch butterflies in July.

    The Monarch Butterfly Project outline is as follows:

    1. Collecting of Monarch Caterpillars
    2. Feeding the caterpillars milkweed leaves
    3. Providing shelter for the catepillars
    4. Watching the hatching of butterflies
    5. Releasing the Monarch butterflies

    Wild Flower Photo Hike 

    When:
    Second Saturday of June from 10 AM to 4 PM
    Lunch in the St. Victor Petroglyphs Park

    Average of more than 20 types flowers located each year.

    Fee:
    $10 CAD Per Person

    Bring:
    Bug spray, hiking clothes and a large hat.
    Camera and lots of film
    Your Own Lunch or Snacks
