Building Progress

This log structure, built in 1950 as part of the Moose Jaw Wild Animal Park, was donated to the Friends of the Petroglyphs in May of 2000 by the Moose Jaw Parks Department.

The structure has been dismantled and moved to St. Victor, SK, where we are now in the process of rebuilding it. Completion date of the rebuild will be mid-summer of 2003.

The structure is built from used power and telephone poles from 1940.

The corners are round cut notches hand chipped out and fitted to the size of the log.

The interior is open log beam with rough cut slab boards for the roof.

     Main room is 22' x 28' with two smaller rooms measuring 8' x 8' and 8' x 14' and a 8' x 16' sun deck on the main entrance.
